Why I am doing this

Recovery brings the power to rise again — and the hope of a new day.

I created Alive and Alcohol Free because I have lived through the damage alcohol can do — and I am proof that recovery is possible. My hope is that this website raises awareness of the very real dangers of drinking, so fewer people have to reach the point I did before they take alcohol seriously.

Addiction does not discriminate. It can affect anyone, and it often hides in plain sight. By sharing my story honestly, I want to help people understand the warning signs, recognise when drinking has become harmful, and feel less alone in seeking help.

If you are struggling with alcohol, or you are worried about someone you love, this website is here to point you towards the right organisations. On the Support page you will find trusted charities, helplines and recovery services that can offer confidential advice and practical support.

You do not have to wait for a crisis. Whether you want to cut down, stop completely, or simply learn more, reaching out is the bravest and most important first step.
